Garden party salutes efforts of library volunteers

In a show of appreciation and gratitude, the North Tillamook Library Friends said ‘thank you’ to its numerous volunteers with an appreciation garden party September 9, hosted by board president Kay Stepp.

The invitee list included 149 names of those who volunteered their time and helped make a difference in 2016. Of those, a third turned out for the Friday afternoon social at Stepp’s Manzanita home.

“Volunteers built North Tillamook Library in 1987 and sustain it today by selling books at the annual book sale, reading stories to children, serving on committees, working in the garden and many more activities necessary to provide a facility for community learning,” said Stepp. “We appreciate the time and talents given by so many.”

It wasn’t just the volunteers the Friends were appreciative of, the weather for the outdoor garden party was as nice as it gets on the Oregon coast this time of year.
